NOTICE OF BROWNFIELDS GRANT APPLICATON

 

This is to inform the City of Wilson residents that the City of Wilson intends to apply for a EPA Brownfields Grant for cleanup.

 

In March 2005, PCE was detected in monitoring wells associated with the Central Kansas Mill and Elevator UST Trust Fund Site (located in Lots 27-35 of Block 4 in the City of Wilson, Ellsworth County, State of Kansas). 

In May 2005, groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells at the Central Kansas Mill and Elevator UST Trust Fund Site and analytical results indicated PCE and TCE concentrations about the federal MCL. 

In March 2006, KDHE conducted a PSE of the site and results were inconclusive and the apparent source of PCE and TCE contamination could not be positively identified.
