Others present for the meeting were:   Alan Rush Ellsworth County Independent/Reporter; Theresa Staudinger City Attorney; Ted Soukup City Superintendent; and Susan Kriley City Clerk.

 

CALL TO ORDER-
Mayor Larry Ptacek called the Regular Meeting of the Wilson City Council to order on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

 

APPROVE AGENDA-
Lorie Taylor made a motion to approve the July 17, 2017 agenda.  Cindy Heinze seconded the motion and it carried.

 

MINUTES-

Cindy Heinze made a motion to approve the July 3, 2017 regular meeting and Board of Health Hearing minutes.  Lorie Taylor seconded the motion and it carried.

 

REPORTS:

BILLS AND PAYROLL-

Gary Everett made a motion to approve the July 17, 2017 bills in the amount of $24,307.53; July 17, 2017 payroll in the amount of $9,652.79; and the transfer from General: Economic Development to the Czech Festival Bank Account.  Steve Claussen seconded the motion and it carried.

 

DEPTS/COMMITTEE:

CITY SUPERINTENDENT WITH TED SOUKUP-

-          Two grave interments

-          Sweeping streets

-          Well #4- replaced contactor due to lightning

-          Request to buy street sweepings for Lutheran Church parking lot Council consensus was no

 

BOARD OF HEALTH- 2504 AVE E- PICTURE ROCKS LTD- DANIEL ERDMAN, PRESIDENT-

Cindy Heinze made a motion to order the fence on Monday, July 24, 2017 if the owner has not installed a fence (owner was given deadline of July 23, 2017 to install a fence and stabilize building).  Lorie Taylor seconded the motion and it carried.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

HUNTER ESTATES DEVELOPMENT-

Hunter Estates development (infrastructure) Phase I The project begin date has been postponed with no new date announced.

 

2018 BUDGET HEARING-

Gary Everett made a motion to approve the Notice of Budget Hearing for the 2018 Budget on August 7, 2017.  Lorie Taylor seconded the motion and it carried.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

ORDINANCE NO. 837- STANDARD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE BOOK-

ORDINANCE NO. 838- UNIFORM PUBLIC OFFENSE CODE BOOK-

Cindy Heinze made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 837- Standard Traffic Ordinance Book and Ordinance No. 838- Uniform Public Offense Code Book.  Gary Everett seconded the motion and it carried.

 

RESOLUTION 6-2017- PRIDE-

Gary Everett made a motion to approve the Resolution 6-2017 in support of PRIDE.  Cindy Heinze seconded the motion and it carried.
