employment opportunity- maintenance superintendent

The City of Wilson, KS is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent.  This is a full-time position that encompasses the operation and maintenance of all city properties and systems, including water, wastewater, streets, parks, cemetery, etc. Current certification as a Class 1 water and Class 1 wastewater operator is preferred.  Obtaining the certifications as soon as possible will be required following the start date, if not currently certified.
The Superintendent oversees one full time employee and several seasonal and contract employees.  Candidate should possess good mechanical skills, problem-solving skills, and be able to operate heavy equipment.  Effective
communication, supervisory and personal relation skills are required, including the ability to interact with the public in a positive manner.  This position requires a valid driver’s license with no restrictions, ability to lift at least 50 pounds, and a high
school diploma or GED.  Following the successful completion of the 60 day probation period, benefits will include vacation, sick leave, KPERS retirement, and single medical & dental insurance.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  Must be at least 18 years of age.  Preference will be given to a
resident of the City of Wilson or someone willing to relocate within six months of start date, but this may be negotiable.
